eYouth Project Students headed to Art Centre today to attend the school perform of The Fall.
The Fall is a play which has been performed at Edinburgh Festival Fringe, where it picked up two awards before transferring to London and New York. The play is written and preformed by young people who were a part of the #RhodesMustFall movement from the students of the University of Cape Town. The Play was attended by schools from across Melbourne and was followed by Q&A session with the Artist which give young people a chance to learn more about the experiences the performers had being a part of the movement and live as young people in South Africa.
As the eYouth Project Students start working on their project this way is a great way to explore how art and creativity can be used. To create themes such as race, class, gender, sexism, colonialism and ideologies of patriarchy which have a impact on young people and unpack how they shape peoples lives.
Looking forward to seeing when young people go back to class and start working on developing their ideas for their projects and how this play has inspired them.
