Today Members of the eYouth Crew traveled into the city for training to help prepare for Supporting the eYouth Projects developing their Project. To kick off the day we visited Sam Champion, Participation and Development Coordinator at YACVic.
YACVic is the leading advocate for young people aged 12–25 in Victoria. As a peak body, we work closely with young Victorians and the sector that supports them to deliver effective advocacy, events, training, resources and support – so that young people can live their best lives.
Sam gave the eYouth Crew some training on why Youth Participation is important when designing projects or programs to meet the needs of young people. We had great conversations about Ladder of Youth Participation (in the photo gallery) it was a great chance to reflect as a team using co-design and how we can increase youth participation in the project.
In the afternoon after some yummy food at Nando's we headed across the road to the NGV to check out the Top Arts Exhibition to see the latest works from VCE students from across Victoria in a range of art forms. The trip inspired the eYouth Crew that they could create an event/ exhibition with the art work of the eYouth Project students which they will run workshops during Semester 2 in 2018. Keep an eye on this blog in the future for more updates.
